As the 6th-year Tennis Director at Lake Shore C.C., Findlay brings a wealth of experience to our Tennis Program.  Between 1992 – 2003, he was the Head Tennis Coach at Edinboro University of PA.  Additionally, Andy owns and operates the successful ‘ Intense Tennis Camps.com’  in Western Pa. Andy is the J.D. Director at Westwood R.C. and was a USTA Tennis Service Representative (TSR) 2007-12.

Andy is the head coach at the USTA Sectional Training Center in Pittsburgh and has attended 50 nat’ l tennis workshops.Since 1998, he has coached the USTA MS Boys’ 18s nat’ l team in Champaign, IL and Kalamazoo, MI in July.  In 1999, Andy completed the USTA High-Performance program in Miami, the USTA’ s Sport Science Level I & II testing and won the nat’ l USTA Collegiate Community Service Award for DII schools.

After becoming a 1981 Communications graduate of Mercyhurst Univ., where he was a 5x All-American and Academic All-American, Andy has 38 years tennis experience in Middle States in playing, teaching, coaching, administrating, and operating camps.

Coach of the Year honors have been bestowed on Andy as men’ s coach in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in 2000 and 2003 and as Allegheny Mountain District’ s winner in 1992, 1996, and 2017.  In 1991, with Dennis Ranalli, the duo was ranked #1 in USTA/MS 35’ s doubles. In 2010, Andy was named the USPTA MS ‘ Pro-of-the-Year.”In 2012, Andy won two USTA AMD Awards: 1. President’ s Award for Jr. Development; 2. Tennis Industry Award for Excellence.  Findlay is the PIAA D10 Girls’  Tennis Tournament Director.     In 2005, Andy was a USTA AMD clinician training over 400 K-12 Phys. Ed. teachers to enrich their curriculums with tennis as a lifetime sport.  Also, in 2006 Andy was undefeated at #1 doubles on the Erie men’ s senior 4.5 team that placed second at the USA League Tennis Championships in Princeton.   In May 2004, Andy was inducted into the Mercyhurst College Athletics Hall of Fame.
